WAYS TO SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBORS NEAR AND FAR

Hope 7 Food Pantry

Sunday is our last Sunday to collect for the Hope 7 Pantry.

Hurricane Relief

Hurricane Helene has devastated parts of the southeastern U.S., bringing catastrophic wind, rain and flash flooding to many states and communities. In response, UMCOR is coordinating with affected annual conferences and supporting their local relief efforts. UMCOR has awarded solidarity grants to the North and South Georgia annual conferences with multiple grants in process for other annual conferences.

Additionally, UMCOR-trained Early Response Teams (ERTs) are coordinating efforts to support the removal of debris, tarping of roofs, and cleaning out of homes in hard-hit areas.

To support this and other U.S. disaster response efforts, give here.

We offer our prayers-

  • For Trudyann Robertson who is having surgery this coming week
  • For our congregants who are homebound: Bob and Darlene Broadhead, Hilda Fryer,  Rosalie Drake, Shirley Monroe
  • For residents and responders in areas affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton
  • For all who lead
  • For an end to violence in our world
  • For our church as we continue to seek ways to be in ministry
  • Better stewardship of the environment and our natural resources
  • the spiritual vitality and growth of the church
  • emotional and physical healing, restoring hope in people who are victims of conflict, disease, and human rights abuses
  • those who are working to alleviate the poverty, illiteracy, and hunger
  • For those who are struggling with addiction
  • For an end to systemic racism, white supremacy and their effects
  • For all those in need of housing
  • For the hungry that they be fed
  • For all the unspoken prayer requests that we receive during the week.

Ecumenical Prayer Cycle – The Caribbean

The Ecumenical Prayer Cycle takes us through every region of the world over the course of a year. Praying for each place on earth and its people at least once a year, we affirm our solidarity with Christians all over the world who are living in diverse situations, experiencing diverse problems and sharing diverse gifts.

If you have additional prayer requests or praises that you would like to share, please email or call Pastor Becky, rebeccaarichards@gmail.com or 518-223-2917 to be included in the weekly email.
